Why hire a graphic design professional? | Because a properly designed piece is more than just filling in templates from a desktop publishing or graphics software. A properly designed piece transforms concepts into innovative solutions that will attract attention, aid in brand recognition, and increase sales. It is important for business owners to present an image that is both professional and polished. A poorly designed brochure, website, or business card will not deliver a strong impact and and clear message...it will only hinder your objectives and confuse or turn-off your customers. Graphic designers are trained to present information in clear, concise, creative ways for maximum impact. At VALHALLA Designs, we have over thirty years of experience in creating effective design solutions for our clients. We discover what your company does, what it does well, what your goals and business values are. We learn what your passions and key drivers are and check-out what your competition is doing and trying to achieve. After this information is assimulated we begin mocking up ideas from as many angles as makes sense. At times the process is obvious...as your companies' products, services, values and practices scream out and demand a particular look to convey the message. Other times its more developmental, requiring customer involvement as we go through the process; communicating the direction they feel best conveys what they are seeking to achieve. Never underestimate the importance of design...it can mean the difference between your success or that of your competitor. |
How long does a design project take? | Design can take a few days or a couple of weeks - depending on the complexity of the project, the number of pieces involved, and the amount of changes requested. Project scope and estimates are provided, and agreed upon, before design begins. |
What phases are involved in a design project? | Project phases are typically: planning, design, writing, review, production, and approval. Reproduction is considered a thrid-party vendor but must be considered during the planning phase to ensure your project's ultimate delivery deadline. Typically we do not provide or coordinate your reproduction needs. |
How does payment work? click for | We define your project scope in enough detail so we can "fix-bid" your job. This means we never say the bid is $$/hr without first estimating the total number of hours required...we have found that this method works well since there are no surprises for the customer. Certainly, if you change the scope of the project it will impact cost as well as delivery time. A quote can either be faxed or sent as a PDF attachment in email. If you decide to work with VALHALLA Designs then you sign the quote and fax it back to us. A standard terms and conditions agreement must also be reviewed and signed prior to project start. Based on our experience, we have found that it is mutually advantageous to both the Client and Designer to handle each project in logical working/billing phases. Extensive concept alterations or changes in project objectives will alter the total cost of a project. Planning the work, cost estimating, and billing in four (4) phases permits either Designer or Client to adjust for such revisions; or halt work before completion if a project is postponed or canceled. Any canceled project is billed only through phases, and/or portions of phases, that were actually completed by Designer. |
